What is a Horse Lease?
Horse leases are designed to allow the client independent riding time to ride recreationally or to provide instruction to their child/children. The lease is designed for experienced horse-people to enable them to ride frequently without the initial investment, cost, and responsibility of owning a horse.
How Does it Work?
The client contacts Wolf Hills Rescue and coordinates the desired riding schedule and type of horse. The first month is a supervised lease where the client comes to ride once a week to try the horse, and allows the rescue an opportunity to evaluate the suitability of the horse-person match. This period is a supervised riding for a minimum of four riding lessons. If the client is happy with the horse, leases are available for six month periods. A lease for one day a week is available for $100 a month and two days a week for $200 a month. Full feeding, board, dental, farrier, and care for the leased horses, as well as appropriate tack, are included in the lease fees. Full use of the pasture and hay land, short trails, and 50'x100' riding arena are included.
